People believe that if you follow diets such as the Every Other Day Diet and the Alternate Day Fasting diet, they will help you to detoxify your body. This has been a big selling point for people when choosing a new diet to follow as it is believed that if you go through some form of detox it will clean your body of any impurities that may cause disease down the road. However, at this point, that is a myth. There is no reported evidence to prove that following these types of diets will detoxify your body or reduce your risk of disease. Your body detoxifies by itself and it is more recommended to lead a healthier lifestyle overall rather than following fad diets.
